Want To Enjoy Some Local Art? Then Go To The Bank!

Posted by Laurene Hunt at

Recently I was invited to showcase my artwork downtown in my home town of Ashland, Massachusetts…in a bank! Needham Bank opened in Ashland last June with the commitment to support our local community and that includes our artists. The bank coordinates with Arts! Ashland Alliance to find local painters (like me), photographers and others to display our work on their Art Wall.

This month (April 2016) visitors to the bank will walk into the lobby and come face to face with my exhibit. I've chosen to hang ten of my Dog, Cat and Nature 12" x 12" pop art acrylic canvases. On a snowy weekday at the beginning of the month, the friendly staff at the bank helped me hang my art and even offered me coffee. They seemed really interested in my painting style and my subject matter.

Since hanging my canvases, friends and acquaintances have been visiting the bank telling me how much they enjoy my art. Some had never seen my work before, so I really appreciate this opportunity to share my art with them and the greater community!  Thank you Needham Bank and Arts! Ashland Alliance!

Needham Bank is also a sponsor of the Ashland Half Marathon, Ashland Day, the Ashland Education Foundation and the Ashland Dragonfly Festival (the Arts! Ashland Alliance's signature event). This year's Dragonfly Festival is August 13 at Mill Pond Park. Local musicians will be performing.
